The internet - will it, can it survive, in its present form

A good article from Wendy Grossman, quite a challenge coming up for the net. Although the idea that "laws" can be passed to regulate it per country has been shown to fail (just look at the anti-spam legislation).

Unless we have a 'world government' or I guess declare the internet its own country with its own government, unfortunately that can't work as vital servers that make it work have to be owned/run by someone with a hierarchy. Its can't be a cooperative venture. (Yes, I'm talking DNS).

Where you been ? :-)

Ok, unfortunately the layout on my blog means the picture doesn't fit as intended. So I've had to muck about a bit, but we get there in the end.

Jobs....

Interesting to read this from slynky, strangely enough things seem to have been getting worse (ie, more bureaucratic, for nobodies benefit) in the last 6 weeks.

Perhaps new jobs all around, but all I was offered when I checked was west london, road access only.....er no thanks, my current 40-50min commute could become 2.5hrs easily, with no chance of a hotel. Erm.... even for the perfect job... that's a definitive no!

Got an invite to a pub session tomorrow night, and since its a bank hol, that's excellent timing. Schweet.

Might have to get one of these sent over too.
